about us

At Thomson Residential we believe that having a simple, modern approach results in the best possible experience for homeowners, landlords and tenants. At the heart of this philosophy is communication, something that is often lacking in the property sector but is at the top of the list of needs for clients. We understand this and strive to perform to our own high standards in everything we do. From initial approach through to successful sale or rental, we want our customers to have experienced a stress free and enjoyable property journey.

Owner and Director Neil Thomson has over 25 years experience in residential property and during that time he has developed both an extensive knowledge of the market and a firm understanding of what it takes to provide clients with the service they desire. Neil has a firm belief that effective communication is the key to a successful relationship and wants to deliver a fresh outlook combined with enthusiasm and professionalism. Whether you have a property to sell, are a new landlord, have an existing property but are unhappy with your current managing agent or are seeking your dream home to rent, allow Thomson Residential to show you how we can make a difference.

Contact us today for an informal initial discussion or a no obligation visit to your property.

our team

Neil Thomson

Owner

Our Director Neil set the company up in 2014 after almost 25 years involved in sales and lettings. Having viewed up close the frustrations of the property process he decided to take the plunge and set up a new business with a strict vision of keeping things simple, transparent, trustworthy and human. Starting out fresh and looking to take on property number one was daunting but it has proven to be a worthwhile decision and the pleasure of helping homeowners, tenants and landlords find their property match keeps him motivated. Neil lives locally to our office, is the father of two daughters and tries to get out golfing when time allows.

Jane Robertson

Branch Manager

Our Branch Manager Jane joined the company in 2015 and brought with her a wide range of customer service experience built up in the private sector. She was amongst the first in Scotland to pass her Letwell Chartered Institute of Housing course when the qualifications were announced as part of the regulation of the residential letting industry. Jane is a mother of one and lives locally to the office, she is an expert on all things East Renfrewshire and will be the first to know when a new restaurant or shop is opening and likes to shop locally whenever possible. As Manager, she has complete knowledge of all comings and goings and is a welcome face and voice to all our clients. Friendly and personable, Jane is always happy to assist.

Katie Kinnell

Senior Property Manager

Katie joined the team in 2020 and has quickly moved up the ranks to the position of Senior Property Manager. Fully qualified through the Letwell Chartered Institute of Housing, Katie is responsible for the management of our rental portfolio. Well organised and with excellent customer service skills, Katie has a warm personality and a desire to help, an essential part of keeping our landlords and tenants happy. Katie lives in the West End of Glasgow and is able to provide us with all the latest news and updates on any new business or development from Broomhill to Byres Road.

Cameron McNeill

Property Manager

Property Manager Cameron joined the team in 2025, having already gained experience in the private rented sector in Glasgow.  A graduate from UWS in 2024, he left University with a firm desire to make property his career.  Enthusiastic and driven, he has hit the ground running and has been well received by both landlords and tenants.  A keen golfer and footballer, Cameron lives in Newton Mearns and has an excellent knowledge of the local market.

Susan Fisher

Sales Negotiator

Susan joined us in 2021 on a part time basis to help with our administrative duties in the office. A resident of Newton Mearns, Susan has many years experience in the local property sector and joined us after the birth of her 2nd daughter when looking to return to work. She has a happy and outgoing nature and has a great work ethic to compliment her superb customer service skills. Bringing up two daughters keeps Susan more than busy although she is a keen follower of St Mirren, which may or may not be a good thing.
